About Fran Nordstrom Guild 2.0
Letter from Our Leadership
In 2017, the Fran Nordstrom Guild 2.0 was founded and quickly grew to include 13 women with the goal of creating the next generation of philanthropists, bringing fundraising to young professionals, and raising money for families with children being treated at Seattle Children’s. In our first six months, we planned and hosted our very first fundraiser for Seattle Children’s where we raised $30,000 for the Uncompensated Care Fund. Since then we’ve raised double that amount at each of our following annual events and tripled our membership.
Having grown up in Northeast Seattle or having ties to the community, the women of FNG 2.0 had a desire to support these families, grow our community, and introduce Seattle Children’s and the need for the Uncompensated Care Fund with others, especially to younger adults and young families.
During each of our events, we’ve had the pleasure of having parents of past patients share their stories with our attendees. They would share the shock and courage of their children who went through treatment at the hospital—some newborns and some older—and the increasing costs of those life-saving treatments they received— binders full of invoices. And they would all say, it was the through the help of donations and sponsorships of events like ours that helped relieve a significant financial burden so that they could focus on caring for their child, housing their families, and living their lives.
The Fran Nordstrom Guild is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
